Fifty-five Colombian professionals from different regions of the country began a new chapter in their academic and professional training in the United States.<\/p>\n\n

The 2025 Cohort is made up of 33 Colombians who will pursue doctoral studies, 8 who will study master’sdegree programs, 5 who will undertake doctoral research fellowships, 5 who will undertake advancedpostdoctoral research, and 4 who will be Spanish teaching assistants at U.S. institutions.<\/p>\n\n

The stays will begin in August 2025 at prestigious universities in the United States, thanks to the support of theDepartment of State through the Fulbright program, in partnership with Colombian agencies such as the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation, the Ministry of National Education, the Fundaci\u00f3n Valle deLili, and the Fundaci\u00f3n Amigos de Fulbright.<\/p>\n\n

For 10 months, those awarded received intensive support to strengthen their profiles, including preparation for standardized tests (such as TOEFL and GRE), advice on applying to up to five U.S. universities, support inobtaining visas, and guidance seminars in Colombia and the United States.<\/p>\n\n

As part of the Guidance Seminar, the scholarship recipients participated in a virtual meeting and an in-person meeting, during which they gathered in Bogot\u00e1 for three days to receive the information and tools necessary to face the exciting stage they are about to begin.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

The guidance seminar ended with the Scholarship Award Ceremony, held at the Official Residence of the U.S. Embassy in Bogot\u00e1, where the scholars received an honorary degree and a pin recognizing them as part of the Fulbright Colombia family.<\/p>\n<\/div>

The ceremony was chaired by Anne Hardman, Deputy Chief of Mission, joined by Adam J. Lenert, Acting Counselor for Public Diplomacy and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fulbright Colombia.<\/p>\n\n

Also in attendance at the main board were Yesenia Olaya, Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation;Ricardo Moreno, Deputy Minister of Higher Education of the Ministry of National Education; and the Board ofDirectors of Fulbright Colombia.<\/p>\n\n
