A Fulbright-Minciencias Scholar Represented Colombia at NEURO2026 in Kobe, Japan

Neuroscience research conducted by Colombian researchers continues to cross borders. At the NEURO2026 conference in Kobe, Japan, Judith Cristina Cediel presented her findings on alpha-band dynamics and their relationship to visual processing.

Cediel, a fellow in the Fulbright-Minciencias program (Class of 2023), participated in this important scientific outreach event in Asia, made possible by the NEURO2026 Travel Award and the collaborative training efforts carried out at the LB3 Lab at the University of Florida (UF), where she pursued her Ph.D. in Behavioral Sciences.

“Every time I reflect on what motivates me, it all comes down to immersing myself in science to discover little ‘secrets of the universe.’ I am deeply grateful to Fulbright Colombia for its support since 2023, when I received the fellowship, and I will always proudly bear the title of Fulbrighter,” said the researcher regarding the opportunity to share cutting-edge science on a global stage, reaffirming the spirit of discovery that drives the fellowship community.
