We are the U.S. government’s premier educational and cultural exchange program worldwide, created in 1946 by the initiative of Senator J. William Fulbright to broaden understanding between the United States and other countries. Throughout its existence, the program has provided more than 400,000 study, research, and educational opportunities to U.S. citizens and citizens of 160 other countries.

In Colombia, the Fulbright Commission was established in 1957 through a bilateral agreement between both nations; our commitment to excellence and education has benefited 5,651 people.
