Ampliamos la fecha de cierre de las convocatorias Visiting Scholar y Visiting Student Researcher 2027
In order to give Colombian researchers, faculty members, and doctoral students more time to prepare their fellowship applications, the Fulbright Commission in Colombia officially announced the extension of the application deadline to October 31, 2026 (11:59 p.m. Colombia Time) for two of its flagship research programs in the United States:
- Visiting Scholar (VS): Designed for Colombian faculty members and researchers with a doctoral degree who wish to pursue advanced research or postdoctoral fellowships at U.S. institutions.
- Visiting Student Researcher (VSR): Open to students currently enrolled in doctoral programs in Colombia who need to conduct research in the United States.
A Critical Time to Finalize High-Quality Applications
This calendar extension reflects the academic rigor required to prepare a high-impact scientific proposal. This additional time will allow applicants to:
- Handling Letters of Invitation: Finalize work plans with host universities or research centers in the U.S. and receive the official, signed letters.
- Refining Academic Essays: Polish the English wording of the academic proposal (Project Statement / Study Objectives) and the personal essay (Personal Statement).
- Letters of Recommendation: Confirm on the MindaClient platform that your three recommenders have uploaded and submitted their evaluations on time.
- Language Proficiency: Submit or certify the official results of the English proficiency exam required in the Terms of Reference for each program.

Interested applicants must carefully review the official Terms of Reference for the call for proposals they are interested in, verify that they meet the requirements, and submit their application no later than Saturday, October 31, 2026, before 11:59 p.m.
