For the first time, the Enhancement Seminar featured a Service Day in which ETAs participated.

As part of the Enhancement Seminar 2025, Fulbright English Teaching Assistants (ETAs) participated for the first time in Service Day, a day dedicated to volunteering and community service.

This initiative embodies Fulbright’s global mission: to foster mutual understanding, build relationships based on respect, and give back to the communities that generously host our scholars throughout Colombia.

Service Day also coincides with the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence, honoring a longstanding national tradition of contributing to the public good and strengthening communities through shared responsibility.

The ETAs and the Fulbright Colombia team volunteered with several partner organizations, including:

  • Mother and Child Adoption Home ( Casa de Adopación de la Madre y el Niño)
  • Casa Imagina
  • Community initiatives in Ciudad Bolívar with the Sal del Mundo Foundation (Fundación Sal del Mundo)
  • And in Soacha with the Apoyar Foundation

Through these activities, the ETAs celebrated fundamental values such as collaboration, empathy, and civic engagement—highlighting the significant impact that Fulbrighters make every day throughout Colombia.
