Description
The Fulbright Commission in Colombia offers the assignment of English Teaching Assistants for 2022- 2023. This grant is aimed at Colombian Higher Education Institutions (IES, by its acronym in Spanish) interested in receiving the support of one or more young U.S. native speaker to support the teaching of English in their institutions according to their needs, for a period of ten (10) months (one academic year).
The Fulbright ETA grant seeks to strengthen English as a second language in Colombian Higher Education Institutions (IES). The grant also allows both the Higher Education Institutions (IES) and the assistants to benefit from a permanent cultural exchange that enriches their experience during the grant period and opens new windows and opportunities for the parties involved.
Among the objectives of the program are:
Strengthening the teaching of English as a second language in Colombia, thus contributing to the goals established by the National Government.
To contribute to the processes of internationalization of higher education in Colombia.
Generate new links and strengthen existing ones between the Colombian and U.S. academic communities, with the aim of supporting educational and teaching processes in both countries.
To generate and strengthen international mobility programs between Colombia and the United States as well as academic networks between both nations.

Benefits
The host institution in Colombia is responsible for

How to apply?
Read the Terms of Reference for this grant in its entirety, paying close attention to Annex 1 which outlines the “Operating Protocol for Host Institutions” who decide to participate in the Fulbright ETA grant.
Fill out the Registration / Enrollment Form
Fill out the Action Plan Form in accordance with the provisions set forth in each of the questions on the form. This form will also allow the applicant to complete the Tutor Data which is an application requirement for this program. Remember that the application instructions may vary from one year to another.
Send the Letter of Institutional Commitment or Academic Cooperation Agreement duly completed and signed by the legal representative of the Host Institution
Make sure you comply with the requirements and send the required documents, according to the instructions stipulated in section 6 of the Terms of Reference.
Submit the application online, no later than November 29, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. (Colombian Time).
The presentation of any document may not be amended.
